Over 5.94 million people (53 percent of the analysed population) in Haiti are experiencing IPC Phase 3 or above (Crisis or worse) between September 2026 and February 2027. Of these, 1.8 million people (16 percent) are facing Emergency (IPC Phase 4) conditions—concentrated in areas affected by insecurity, displacement and economic marginalisation.
Escalating insecurity remains the primary driver, displacing populations and disrupting livelihoods, agricultural production and markets. Economic decline, high food prices and weak purchasing power continue to constrain access to food, alongside El Niño-related climate shocks.
Food insecurity is projected to worsen from March–June 2027, with 6.35 million people (57 percent) expected to face Phase 3 or above, including nearly 2 million people projected to be in Phase 4. Reduced humanitarian assistance and the continued impacts of insecurity, displacement, economic hardship and climate shocks are expected to further erode household coping capacity.
