The IPC Team is happy to welcome Mr. Jerry Argüello, the newly appointed IPC Regional Coordinator for Latin America and Caribbean. Jerry will officially take up his position starting from April 2015. He will sit in SICA-PRESANCA, a Regional Inter-governmental body that plays an important role in food security and nutrition in the Region and that joined the IPC Steering Committee in 2014.

Jerry Argüello is an Agricultural Engineer who has more than five years of experience in the field of food security, out of a total of 10 years in PCI-USDA and SICA-PRESANCA. His main areas of work and interest include food security monitoring and early warning, agroforestry development, bio-intensive organic agriculture, food security information systems and indicators. Jerry is also a certified IPC Trainer & Facilitator who has facilitated several IPC Trainings and Acute Food Insecurity Analyses in Central America.

He holds a M.Sc. in Food and Nutrition Security from the General Secretary of the Central American University - CSUCA – PRESANCA II and also a M.Sc. in Agroforestry Development from the University of Valladolid, Spain.
