In Lesotho, 18 participants from different Government departments, NGOs and UN agencies in the country, and 5 participants from Malawi, Swaziland, South Africa, Botswana and Zambia took part in the IPC Level 1 Training and Acute Food Insecurity Analysis, which was conducted from 13 to 17 June using the IPC Information Support System (ISS).
The Level 1 training took place from 8 to 11 June 2014 and included one-day training on ISS, which was preparatory for the actual IPCISS analysis focused on the whole country. Lesotho was the first country to undertake real-time analysis using the ISS in the region, following the pilot conducted in Zimbabwe in July 2013, in which data from a previous analysis were used, instead of current data.
