From 4 to 8 November 2013, the IPC TWG (LVAC) in Lesotho wrapped up the IPC analysis of the food insecurity in the country which was started in June 2013 and not completed. The IPC team in Lesotho with the support of the IPC Regional Coordinator in Southern Africa developed the IPC map of the current food insecurity situation in the country valid for the period July to September 2013.

However, the team was unable to complete the projected food insecurity situation for the period October 2013 to February 2014 due to the challenges faced with data gaps for two districts. The LVAC drafted the communication template and filled the TWG self-assessment tool, both products to be submitted together with the TWG matrix to the relevant structures in the country for final endorsement.

The IPC TWG (LVAC) in Lesotho is now developing a report of the wrap-up session to document and take stock of the objectives, process and outputs of the IPC analysis. The IPC analysis wrap-up in Lesotho was funded by the Lesotho Government which proves its willingness to engage with IPC.
