Acute
Malnutrition

This IPC analysis of Acute Malnutrition specifically focuses on 25 refugee camps and six host villages around camps of Chad. In 2024, over 58,000 children under the age of five are facing or expected to face elevated levels of acute malnutrition, including over 7,000 children who will likely be severely malnourished. Since the start of the conflict in Sudan in April 2023, there has been a massive influx of Sudanese refugees and Chadian migrants returning from Darfur, crossing Chad's eastern border. The analysis shows that the nutritional situation is as precarious in the refugee camps as it is among the host populations and it’s much more critical in the refugee camps located along the border with Sudan.
