Launch of the IPC Regional Strategic Programme (2014-2016) in Southern Africa

The IPC Global Strategic Programme (2014-2016) is guided and implemented by the multi-partners governing and implementing structures at global, regional and national levels, and by the linkages and cooperation between these three levels.

In this context, following the launch of the IPC Global Strategic Programme and Vision (2014-2016) held on 27 February 2014, the Regional Vulnerability Assessment Committee (RVAC) through the RVAC IPC Technical Working Group is organizing the Launch of the IPC Regional Strategic Programme and Vision (2014-2016), which is scheduled for Thursday, April 10, 2014, from 10:00am to 11:00am, in Johannesburg (South Africa).

The Launch aims at presenting the longer-term breakthrough approach of the IPC Regional Programme in the framework of the top priorities defined by the IPC Global Strategic Programme (2014-2016): IPC Institutionalization and Partnership at all levels; Consolidated and expanded capacity in IPC Acute Food Insecurity Analysis; Rollout of the IPC versions 1.0 Chronic Food Insecurity Classification; Piloting of the IPC version 1.0 of the Nutrition Classification; IPC Quality Review and Compliance Process; and uptake of IPC analysis into decision-making and response analysis process. Space will be also given to explore new partnerships and funding opportunities.

The Launch event will see the participation of the following partners, regional stakeholders, and donors: FAO, WFP, FEWS NET, OXFAM, SADC, CARE, Save the Children, UNOCHA, UNICEF, WVI, DFID, OFDA.
