The Cadre Harmonisé (CH)-Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) Application Programming Interface (API)

In a bid to make food security analysis data from West Africa and the Sahel more accessible to a wide range of users, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) has collaborated with the Cadre Harmonise (CH) partners to integrate CH data into a common Application Programming Interface (API). The API allows applications and websites to receive data in real-time. Partners can access and display information in various formats, including detailed population tables, and maps in two geographic data formats–GeoJSON and Vector Tiles. The data include classification figures based upon the country units of analysis (i.e. administrative areas) and geographical information such as urban areas, areas receiving Humanitarian Food Assistance, and more. The CH-IPC API offers acute food insecurity data from more than 45 countries facing food crises.

The IPC Application Programming Interface (API)

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) is proud to announce the launch of the Application Programming Interface (API). Via the API, partners can access IPC Acute Food Insecurity analyses data from the countries of implementation (currently over 30 countries but this will expand). Various formats are available, including detailed population tables and maps in two geographic data formats–GeoJSON and Vector Tiles. The API currently shares IPC Acute Food Insecurity Classification, with Chronic Food Insecurity and Acute Malnutrition to be added in the future. The data include classification figures based upon the country units of analysis; administrative areas, urban areas, IDP camps, areas receiving Humanitarian Food Assistance, and more.
