On 3 May 2023, the Global Network against Food Crises (GNAFC) – the leading international alliance working to address the root causes of food crises and promote sustainable solutions – will release its flagship publication, The Global Report on Food Crises 2023 (GRFC), produced by the Food Security Information Network (FSIN). The report provides a comprehensive analysis of key factors driving food crises globally, including conflict, climate change and, increasingly, economic shocks.
The 2023 edition of the annual report finds that acute food insecurity continues to rise, while the ripple effects of the war in Ukraine are increasingly becoming a major driver of hunger, particularly in the world’s poorest countries. The report also examines the growing role that economic shocks are playing in driving food crises.
The Global Report on Food Crises 2023, produced by the Food Security Information Network (FSIN) in support to the Global Network against Food Crises (GNAFC), is the result of a collaborative effort among 16 partners to achieve a joint consensus-based assessment of acute food insecurity in GRFC countries.
