The IPC Chronic Analysis is updated only once every few years and informs more developmentally oriented food security interventions such as Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), micro-nutrient support, livelihood diversification, etc. IPC Chronic Level is linked to priority strategic response objectives and indicates how severe the situation is, the exact area that is affected, what part of the population is chronically food insecure, and the basic characteristics. The IPC analyses workshops are held at the capital level. The workshop is structured to indicate the changing of a food insecure situation, changes in the required response, analyze and inform decision making for resolving more long-term and structurally achieve sustainable food security.
