Zimbabwe is the first country in Southern Africa to implement the IPC as a pilot exercise. The first step of this process was the organization in February 2008 of a national technical training workshop, which gathered 40 participants, including representatives of key governmental institutions. An IPC prototype analysis - using real data from 4 Zimbabwean districts - was produced for the occasion.
The Vulnerability Assessment Committee in Zimbabwe (ZimVac) is leading the implementation of the IPC in the country.
