In Tanzania, the IPC was introduced under the coordination of the Food Security Information team (FSIT), which includes UN agencies, International Organizations, NGOs and government institutions. An IPC information workshop for national decision makers and an IPC technical training workshop took place in March 2008 in Dar es-Salaam.
