The IPC was introduced in Burundi in September 2006 and followed by a technical workshop in August 2007.
In April 2008, the country published its first IPC food security and nutrition situation analysis for the January-June 2008 period. This was produced by updating the situational analysis drafted in August 2007 with data from national systems, in particular those from the national Early Warning and Food Security Monitoring system.
